DESCRIPTION

Metron, icon the brainchild of a classically trained musician, aids in the practice of runs, excerpts and complete compositions. Featuring an intuitive front panel, you can launch and start practicing instantly. An organized back panel provides access to powerful extra features.

In addition to the usual single and multiple beat ticks of digital metronomes, Metron offers complex time signatures with beat grouping and dynamic accellerando and ritardando through a high precision playback engine, driven by a bar based sequencer that offers detailed control over tempo. Metron incorporates a tuner that can be calibrated to cent level.

Features in detail:
Metronome:

  • Portrait and landscape mode.
  • Tempo from 10 to 400 Beats Per Minute.
  • Accelerando and ritardando ("Variance").
  • Specify a factor between one quarter (0.25) and double (2.0) the current
  • tempo. (Useful when practicing complex sequences.)
  • Tap the tap pad to set the tempo.
Sequencer:
  • Create your own library with any number of sequences. A set with the most commonly used time signatures is included by default.
  • Create sequences with any number of bars.
  • Each sequence can set a countdown, a start tempo, a variance and whether the metronome stops at the end of the sequence or repeats the sequence from the beginning.
  • Each bar consists of one or more time signatures and can set a tempo and a variance starting on any beat. A bar can be set to repeat up to a 100 times.
  • A time signature can have between 1 and 64 beats over a dotted or undotted denominator. (examples: 7/4, 2/8., 9/32, 1/2., 3/1)
  • A time signature can be subdivided into beat groups. Grouping beats affects metronome playback.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.1:
  • Option (in application settings) to use traditional tempo increments with the metronome front slider.
  • Accellerando and ritardando can now be set to adjust tempo until the next absolute tempo mark (through the "Mark" tempo variance type setting in the bar editor.)
Changed:
  • When a sequence is created the tempo variance type now defaults to "per sequence", instead of "per bar".
  • The tempo variance type of a sequence can now be changed even if a sequence is not set to alter tempo variance (since this still affects how a sequence may react to user tempo variance changes at the front of the metronome during playback).
  • Toggling a bar to set a tempo on or off no longer resets the bar's tempo variance.
  • The bar editor now shows the number of times a bar is to be played, rather than the number of times it is to be repeated (which is one less than the number of times played). This is more intuitive when programming sequences.
  • A bar can now be played up to a 110 times (was 101).
  • Minor layout tweaks in sequence and bar editor.
Fixed:
  • Resolved a crash that could occur when reordering bars in the sequence editor.
  • Resolved a crash that could occur when reordering time signatures in the bar editor.
  • If repeat countdown was on and a tempo variance per sequence was set, the tempo would not be correctly adjusted at each repeat of the sequence.
  • Bars and time signatures can no longer be dragged to inappropriate sections of the table view.
  • Implemented workaround for system bug that could cause a crash if scrolling a table view while editing text.
  • Removed the last row from the pulse sounds chooser. (Selecting it would cause a crash since the sound file does not exist.)

    ****.

KHARSTIN  Works pretty well. No problem getting a 3+3+2 programmed. The only thing is, that the only beats I want to hear are the major beats of each group. There is no way to turn off the other beats.

SEISMICBASS  I used to hate using a metronome cause I couldn't find a siutable one that could fit into my extreme music with weird odd tempos, high speeds and frequent changes! But not until Metron came to my iPhone and solved all my problems! I now enjoy playing with a metronome and could program the weirdest song and it plays along just perfectly! I've tested the application and took it to the extremes and all the functions clearly makes this app the best metronome and music app on the iPhone and the best metronome from those chunky $20 ones. Especially the interface, the sound which we could hear over very loud heavy music and the fact that my band could program a whole song and just play along.

This is my favorite application on the iPhone! The help you get from the developers is also as perfect! Great job to its developers!!
